Cat C+E HGV/LGV – Class 1

 

Getting your HGV Class 1 licence is what all aspiring truck drivers want to achieve. At Ellisons Commercial
Training we offer 2 different courses depending on what driving experience you have. We are able to
assist with complete packages that take you through every stage of the process. From having a medical
and applying for provisional entitlement, right through to in vehicle training and practical tests. Our
Commercial Driver Trainer, Adrian Vokins, will take you through every aspect of driving HGV’s
commercially and will pass on his wealth of knowledge in the industry so that you can both successfully
pass the tests and also go on to halve a successful driving career.
Straight to Class 1
The DVSA have updated the rules on gaining your HGV licence and you are now able to go straight to C+E
(Class 1) without having to pass first in a Class 2 rigid LGV. This will give you greater flexibility in the
vehicles you can drive and give you better job prospects if you wish to drive HGV’s professionally.

 

Our Course Offers:

✅ A medical to have the HGV provisional entitlement added to your licence.
✅ Full online theory/hazard perception training app – Theory Test Pro
✅ A theory Test & Hazard Perception test
✅ 24 hours of training with both Mod 3a & Mod 3b tests included.
✅ Training is spread over 6 days. The first day of the course will begin in a Class 2 to get you accustomed to a larger vehicle before moving on to an Artic Class 1.

 

Due to escalating fuel costs, training package prices are having to change constantly.  Therefore for the latest price please call the office.

Class 2 to Class 1

Having already taken and passed the Class 2 test this will give you invaluable experience of driving larger
commercial vehicles. This will help us to develop your skills with the Class 1 artic much quicker and
therefore the course duration is shorter.
16 hours of training to include Mod 3a reversing & Mod 3b on road tests.
Training & tests will be completed over 4 days.
